Platforms change sizes without notice and guides differ in the details — for an important campaign, check the preview in the app before publishing.

Instagram: 4:5 or 3:4?

Since 2025 the Instagram profile grid has shown posts in a 3:4 ratio. A 1080 × 1440 image fills the tile completely, but some guides still recommend the safe 1080 × 1350 (4:5) — it will be cropped slightly in the grid. Keep the key elements in the middle of the frame and you’ll be fine either way.

Stories, reels, Shorts and TikTok

All vertical video formats share the same size: 1080 × 1920 (9:16). The apps cover the top and bottom of the frame (profile name, caption, buttons), so place text closer to the middle.

File quality

Save images 1080 px wide (YouTube thumbnails — 1280 px) — the platform will shrink larger files anyway. Text on an image should be readable on a phone: a large font and strong contrast.

In the centre — the right format from the start

In the Social Media Centre AI images and short videos are created in the proportions of the chosen format, and every AI-made item gets a visible “AI” label.
